It is with great pleasure and gratitude that the Board can announce that the Rev. Lisa Friedman has accepted our offer to become the Developmental Minister at UUCM effective August 1, 2020.
Rev. Lisa received her Masters of Divinity degree from Meadville Lombard Theological School in 1995. She has served at the UU Congregation of Flint Michigan, the UU Fellowship of Mankato, and for the past eight years as Minister of Congregational and Community Engagement at Unity Church-Unitarian in St. Paul. She began her journey into Unitarian Universalism at the age of six.
Rev. Lisa’s ministerial record is packed with 24 years of significant accomplishments, publications, teaching, mentoring, leadership development, preaching and pastoral care, leading congregations through major transitions of growth and service. The search committee (Bill Arnold, Julia Antonsen, Becky Halat and Robert Brooks) dedicated many hours to the selection process. I am grateful for their generous and thoughtful work opening this important threshold. We have been unanimously impressed in our meetings with Rev. Lisa and enthusiastic in bringing her to UUCM. Our Interim Ministers are likewise thrilled to hear the news. Rev. Meg says, “… she’d be a perfect fit! We are so happy for both her and the church!”
Sincerely yours,
Robert Brooks, Board President
On Behalf of the UUCM Board
