Minister’s Message 11/11/20

REMINDER Join UUCM in Celebrating the Holiday Season!
As our ministry continues online, we need to plan in advance for some of our cherished holiday traditions. Below Rev. Lisa’s weekly message, check out a few reminders of upcoming opportunities and deadlines to participate.

This week’s message honors Veteran’s Day and thanks the veterans in our congregation and wider UUCM family. Rev. Lisa reflects on how the question of war and peace has shaped Unitarian Universalism and shares about the growing presence of UU’s among our nation’s military chaplaincy.

  1. I appreciate that the challenging questions that divide so many are, to UUs, a call to deepen instead. While I am human and by no means practice this perfectly, I appreciate that this religion encourages a “deepening” behavior instead of a “divisive” one.

I also smiled when I hear the terms “US Military” and “LGBTQ+ Community” in the same sentence. I vividly remember a time when I never would have thought those two terms could coincide. I’m grateful to witness so much positive change in my relatively brief lifetime. Thank you for these reminders Rev. Lisa.
