How to submit an announcement at UUCM

If you would like to submit an announcement for publication in the Friday Update newsletter or UUCM Happenings, please see the notice and instructions below. Thank you for your creativity and enthusiasm in support of UUCM!

Notice: All submissions are subject to editing for content, length and publication date(s). The weekly submission deadline for announcements is Wednesday by 9 PM. Please submit announcements to the office administrator at

Please also work in tandem with the staff member(s) or ministry team facilitator(s) most closely related to your initiative. This ensures that events/activities at the church align with UUCM’s mission, ends and current focus areas. Click here to learn more about how to connect at UUCM.

Work of the Church Announcements 

Please include the following in your submission:

  • Title
  • Date and time of event
  • Event location
  • Announcement blurb: 50 words is a good average, please do not exceed 100 words.
    • If your announcement is longer than 100 words: an extension link to UUCM Happenings can be set up. Please include both a standard and extended version of your announcement upon submission if extension space is needed.
  • Contact person for questions
  • Where you would like your announcement to be published: Friday Update, UUCM Happenings

Work of the church announcements are typically published for two weeks. If a longer or shorter duration is desired, please discuss with the office administrator.

In the Community Announcements – Published in the Friday Update

You are welcome to share events happening in our wider community that are important to you and align with our values. To allow space for everyone, please plan to submit one community announcement per week maximum. 

If you would like to submit and event, email with a short paragraph (2-4 sentences) outlining the event and where to go for more information. Please include a title, date/time of the event, location and contact person if applicable.

In the Community submissions are posted two weeks prior to the event date. If a longer or shorter duration is desired, please discuss with the office administrator.
