Update on Guatemalan Family + How You Can Help

UUCM has been working with the UUSC and Michael Servetus Unitarian Society to support a Guatemalan family that has been reunited in Minnesota, after being separated for many years at the border. We are working on getting organized and providing monthly updates. If you are interested in being an occasional or ongoing part of this work, please contact Kate Flom at kflom209@gmail.com.

We need volunteers who are willing to provide transportation, help gather goods, and provide translation services. We are making progress including school clothes for the youngest son, beds, sheets, and kitchen supplies, and some food donations. We think we have located bicycles for the family and we are working on finding much needed dental services.

The family has been subsisting on weekly trips to a neighborhood food shelf, but the food shelf just imposed a limit of one visit per month. If you can help with a monetary donation, please click here, and put ‘UUSC Family’ in the Tickets/Events/Misc. memo line or send a check to UUCM with ‘UUSC Family’ in the memo line. Thank you!
