Karen Heuiser will join UUCM on Monday, July 18 as our new Director of Family Ministry. Read on to get to know Karen a bit better, and watch for a video introduction from her in next week’s Mid-Week Message. 

Karen lives in St. Louis Park with her husband, Jeff, and her two daughters, Hannah and Adelaide. She has a menagerie of two dogs, a cat, dwarf seahorses and fish who also live with them and fill their lives with love and and pet hair.

She grew up in the Lutheran church, graduated from Luther College, and has been a member of a United Church of Christ church for more than 10 years. Once she heard of Unitarian Universalists, she was hooked and wonders where this has been all her life!

Karen has held jobs that have spanned being a newspaper reporter, editor, volunteer coordinator and preschool teacher. Her greatest loves include children, dogs, and the outdoors, and she is often found trying her hardest to combine all of those. She is passionate about encouraging an attitude of radical welcome, and believes we can all learn from one another and contribute to the greater good.
