Chalice Keeper Training Begins this Sunday

LAST CHANCE TO SIGN UP Sunday: October 2, 9, 16 and 30 from 11:15 – 11:30 AM
Chalice Keeper Mentors Also Needed! Please sign up to be a part of the program here.

Chalice Keepers is a family-based program that prepares our children for one of UU’s most sacred rituals. This program is usually done at home and led primarily by family members, but we are hoping to collaborate as a group and incorporate the majority of the lessons and rituals into Sunday mornings this year. Families and students in grades 1-3 are invited to stay after worship services and RE for 15 minutes for four Sundays on Oct. 2, 9, 16 and 30.

We are also hoping to encourage students in junior or senior high to become a mentor to a chalice keeper and attend these four Sundays to help revisit the ritual of chalice keeping and participate in the ceremony on Nov. 6. Those who are interested in taking the program but may have missed it due to the pandemic the last few years, or simply didn’t finish the materials at home, are also invited to attend.

We will go over the UU principles and talk about the rituals of lighting the chalice to prepare our wonderful students to do so in worship going forward. Classes will meet downstairs in the K-3 classroom directly following worship and RE. Please sign up to be a part of the program here.
