Thank you for a Successful 2023 UUCM Auction!

Each year our fall Auction aims to build connections within the church and raise money for our general fund.  By those measures, this year’s UUCM Auction was a big success, with great participation and a record $31,000 raised for our general fund. It was so fun  to see over 85 people attend the in-person and online “Roaring 20’s” auction events, where 86 bidders won the 140 items donated by 60 members and friends.

Our donors and bidders are critical to a successful auction. But the event would never happen without our auction volunteers. Marc Doepner-Hove was our auctioneer, and Brian Zais directed the live music. Paul Winchester and Sam Brandt performed the live music with Brian, and Stacy Doepner-Hove assisted with online bidding.  The food and drink was provided by Ben and Shelly Kyriagis, Jackie and Steve Zimmerman, Janna and Steve Sundby, and Melissa and Noel Martinson. Mary Cotton chose the theme, decorated the church, and helped us in many other ways. Bob Dachelet helped us prepare the facility. The tech team included Wayne Schneider, Jim Pace, Becky Halat, and Emma Wilson. Karen Heuiser, Oliver Brechin, Addi Lynn and Hannah Lynn provided childcare. Bob Dachelet and Steve Levin served as greeters. Stef Bell-Egge helped manage the live auction, and Emma Wilson published our communications. We want to thank all of them for playing an important role in the success of the auction.

The auction has changed and grown through the pandemic as we have blended live, silent, and online bidding.  We would love to have you share your experiences and your ideas for improving the event.  You can do that by completing the survey here.

We’ll see you next year!

Fred and Karen Hulting, Auction Co-Chairs
