UUCM Midweek Message & Mapping Memory Event Reminder

Today is the last day of Transgender Awareness Week. This week’s Midweek Message comes to us from the UUA ahead of Transgender Remembrance Day tomorrow. The UUA offers a silent moment to remember trans people who have lost their lives in the last year followed by a heartfelt message of love, resilience, and affirmation. May this message bring comfort, strength, and hope. You are sacred. You are loved.

Transgender and nonbinary people seeking support and resources can visit UPLIFT at www.uua.org/lgbtq/transnb to find guidance, affirmation, and tools for connection.

Please remember to join Kelly Bertenshaw tonight from 7–8:30 p.m. for “Mapping Memory: How Memory Works & What’s Happening When It Doesn’t.” One of the most common questions Kelly receive is, “I’m forgetting things. As we grow older, it becomes essential to recognize the distinction between normal and abnormal changes occurring in the brain, which helps us determine the appropriate response. In this presentation, Kelly discusses typical age-related changes and identifies the warning signs of abnormal changes. She’ll also examine the differences between memory loss, dementia, and brain diseases like Alzheimer’s.
