Soul Matters Circles Return This Fall!

Whether you’re new to UUCM or are a long-time member, we invite you to join a Soul Matters Circle this year at UUCM! These groups offer the opportunity to explore the monthly themes and connect with each other and our deepest selves.

You can sign up online now here!

This year we’re offering two Circles which will meet once a month for 1.5 hours from September-June. One Circle will meet in person on Sundays, and the other will meet Monday nights via Zoom. Susan Goll will facilitate the in-person gatherings and Rev. Lisa will facilitate online. Please see the class dates below.

Participants receive a resource packet each month with background information, questions for discussion and contemplation, spiritual exercises, wise words and other suggested resources. In each meeting, we share what it was like to “live with” the exercises and the questions as we share where the topic took us, and hear the experience of others. This sharing is at the heart of the Soul Matters program and our experience is further deepened by the group’s sharing.

Newcomers and friends are especially welcome, and childcare is available! Reach out to Rev. Lisa with any questions.

UUCM Women’s Retreat Registration Open Now!

This year’s Women’s Retreat is set for September 29 and 30. The theme for 2023 is “Reclaiming Our Wholeness”.

Individually, wholeness invites us to embrace and honor all aspects of ourselves – our strengths, vulnerabilities, passions, and imperfections. Within our community, wholeness reminds us of the power of connection and inclusion. It recognizes that each of us brings our own perspectives, gifts, and experiences that enrich and help to shape our collective journey.

Each of us has arrived at UUCM from our own unique spiritual journey with our own wisdom and longings. In the blizzard of the world, how do we stay connected to what sustains and guides us?

Regardless of where each of us is on that journey, we welcome you to join us as we mindfully pause, reflect and ponder what has heart and meaning and explore ways we can continually renew and restore our spirit. With curiosity, humor, compassion and gratitude, we will explore the beauty and wholeness we can continually uncover, discover and recover as individuals which, in turn, helps to build a beloved community that honors us all.

Please join us. Fill out the online form by September 15 or return a hard copy to the UUCM office.

“When Brene Brown invites us to present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world, she is reminding us that the worth and dignity of our humanity is not found in some perfect, untarnished ideal or beauty. It is in all of the pieces of color this life has given us. The journey of belonging is not about hiding them, but about what we do with then and how we share them with each other.”
