Join Team Unitarians next month for a 3-county Plastics Free Challenge! This is the perfect chance to have some competitive fun and learn more about recycling plastics. You choose some goals that you would like to try to cut down on your plastics use and the team earns points for your joining and your successes. Invite your friends too! Please contact Jackie Smolen with any questions.

Thank you to everyone who donated to our donation drive for Avenues for Youth during the holiday season. Thanks to your generosity we were able to give dozens of items in addition to a financial donation to a family in need. Some of the items we donated included: kitchen essentials, a vacuum, toiletries, clothes and snow pants. The full list of items is available here.

Beacon Interfaith Housing Collaborative just opened its latest supportive housing building in Minneapolis, Bimosedaa, which is Ojibwe for “Let’s walk together.” The new residents are in need of many items to get started in their new homes, including extra long twin sheets and comforters, cleaning items (mops, toilet cleaners/plungers, spray disinfectants, etc.) and kitchen items (pans, cooking utensils, etc.) The Housing Justice team is collecting donations to send over to Bimosedaa. Please drop off items to donate by the table in the corner of the community room at UUCM. More information on the development is available here.
