They envision a state where LGBTQ individuals have equal opportunities, protection and rights, and are working toward the day when all Minnesotans have the freedom, power and confidence to make the best choices for their own lives. Every Sunday, UUCM donates the entire open offering to a social justice cause, with different organizations chosen each month. Since we began this practice in 2010, UUCM has raised and dispersed over $108,000 to more than 60 different organizations. The recipient of grants from this fund are chosen by the Social Justice Ministry and our Minister.

Our MAY Social Generosity Offering will go to the Katie Tyson Fund for Youth and Young Adult Ministries, which is dedicated to kindling the sparks of leadership among Unitarian Universalist youth and young adults. The fund supports scholarships, grants, and programs for youth and young adult projects, conferences, outreach, and more. With your generosity, young leaders will be empowered to live out their dreams, to weave our Unitarian Universalist (UU) principles into the fabric of their expanding lives, and to encourage others to do the same. Our APRIL Social Generosity Offering will go to the Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light, who works in partnership with faith communities across the state of Minnesota to co-create a just and sustainable world. Our MARCH Social Generosity Offering will go to the MN Food Share and IOCP’s Prevent Hunger March Campaign. Nearly half of those who come to Interfaith Outreach for the first time need food. The most vulnerable members of our community — seniors living on fixed incomes, families struggling to make ends meet, and children — too often miss meals. With the help of this generous community, IOCP distributed 1 million pounds of food and household essentials last year. Interfaith Outreach also works holistically to prevent future hunger through employment and family support services.
