UUCM is a sponsor for this year’s historic Walk for Peace and Justice on September 30. The walk is a demonstration of our commitment to build a better world, where all are treated with dignity and respect. The event starts at Brackett Park in Minneapolis at 9:30 a.m. and ends with a walk to the Lake Street bridge where Mayors Jacob Frey and Melvin Carter are invited to commit to work to eradicate all forms of violence in their cities. Vote Climate is hosting a celebratory event at the Danish American Center after the walk. Sign up here or more information contact Sue Fust. Registration is free but donations will be used to support nonviolence programs in the Twin Cities. Check out the invitation video below from one of the organizers!

Bag It! Documentary Screening

Please join the Climate Justice Group this Friday, September 22 at 7 in the UUCM Sanctuary for a screening of the documentary Bag It! Stick around for a discussion afterwards too. The documentary uses humor to teach about the use and dangers of plastics in our environment. “See how our crazy-for-plastic world has finally caught up to us and what we can do about it. Today. Right now.”
