Each month, UUCM gives away the full amount of its offering to an organization doing the work for love, equity, and justice in our world.
The mission of Sojourner Project is to provide emergency shelter, support, and legal advocacy services to those victimized by domestic violence and other forms of interpersonal violence. Their ultimate goal encourages the change from crisis to stability and the transition from victim to survivor. All Sojourner services are confidential and free of charge.

The theme for this month is Celebrating Blessings, which I thought would be a happy, joyful kind of article when I committed to it long ago, but I’ve rewritten this at least 4 times since we find ourselves reeling from more gun violence. The media bombards us with timelines, opinions and accusations, as if more and more data and story angles can somehow help us make sense of something we can’t possibly make sense of.
