Social Generosity Offering: May 2022

Each month, UUCM gives away the full amount of its offering to an organization doing the work for love, equity, and justice in our world.

Eleven UUCM youth (and seven adults) will be going to Harlan, Kentucky this year for the Appalachia Service Project trip, working to make homes in the Appalachia region warmer, safer, and drier. Our group is getting ready to go the week of 7/2-9. We’re expecting the trip to cost about $9500, so we need your help! There are several ways you can contribute to the trip. Click here for more details and contact Brian Zais with questions. Your gifts will help make this trip a reality!

How to Donate: You can donate online using a credit card at bit.ly/giveuucm. You may also mail a contribution to UUCM at 2030 Wayzata Blvd E, Wayzata MN 55391. Simply make your check out to “UUCM” with “Social Generosity” in the memo line.

From the Board: May 2022

Each month, a member of the board will share a reflection on the Soul Matters monthly theme. The theme for May is Nurturing Beauty. This month’s post is offered by Janna Sperry Sundby.

Beautiful people do not just happen.” –Elisabeth Kübler-Ross

Reviewing this quote made me pause.  I recently and unexpectantly lost a dear friend. He was beautiful and I did not know he was suffering.

He was a talented designer, developer, film maker, guitarist, singer, a joyous friend, a good cook, and great father. I hired him to create my first website back in 2000. He was thoughtful in helping me understand the process and I subsequently hired him to work with on websites for my clients. He could be loud, loved to use foul language, and loved his home country of Madrid Spain. Continue reading →

Fred Hulting, Board President

Article II Study Commission A Conversation on Covenant Banner (1)The UUA is currently reimagining Article II of its By-Laws. This is the article that contains the formal statement of our seven UU principles.
