Parent Circle meets 8:15-9:15pm each Wednesday over Zoom AND onsite the first Wednesday of the month, if enough people RSVP to Jennifer by noon that day. We listen to and encourage each other. We laugh and rant and learn. Join in whenever it works for you – we’d love to see ya! We use the Parent Circle Zoom link printed in every Friday Update.
From the Board: October 2021
Each month, a member of the board will share a reflection on the Soul Matters monthly theme and the state of the church. The theme for October is Cultivating Relationship. This month’s post is offered by Janna Sundby.
Cultivating deep relationships is easier when there’s shared respect between people.
I’ve been shopping at Cub in Shorewood for over 25 years. There was a very tall guy who collects the grocery carts and does various maintenance work inside the store. I’ve seen him many times over the seasons and years. In winter he wears a huge fur hat, and in the summer, he wears a wide-brimmed ratan hat. Seeing him work tirelessly in all kinds of weather, made me appreciate him. I noticed how he seemed to know the all the little kids who came into the store. UUCM Mid-Week Message 10/6/21
This week’s message continues last Sunday’s invitation to cultivate a relationship with nature. We encourage you to enjoy the Zais family’s rendition of “This Pretty Planet” and to spend some time outside savoring the autumn beauty around you. May we each be reminded that the earth is indeed a harbor and a holy place.

Bulletin: Scam Email This Week
Thanks to the congregants who reported a scam email this week, allegedly from Rev. Lisa, stating she was “going into a meeting and can not accept calls.” Phishing emails continue to get more sophisticated and troublesome. Please be extra cautious and communicative if you are not sure about a request.
If you receive an email or text message that appears to be from a UUCM minister, staff or church member asking you for a favor, money or to purchase gift cards, please be sure to always speak with the alleged sender directly (draft a separate email, or call them) BEFORE giving money or purchasing gift cards of any kind. Learn more here and feel free to reach out to office@uucmtka.org with any questions.
