UUCM Member Jen Barnes is asking for your support, Telehealth for Medicare recipients will be discontinued March 31, 2025 unless Congress takes immediate action. It was supposed to have a two year renewal period but to stop a government shutdown it was only extended a few months past expiration on 12/31/2024. In Jen’s experience, once a regulation is lifted/policy shifts, commercial insurers tend to follow suit, so this could have an impact on Medicare Advantage patients and perhaps all of us at some point. This will have a significant negative impact on seniors and people with disabilities, particularly those without transportation or in rural areas. Click here to take action.

Phone Bank to Support Union Workers
Join the UUCM Racial Justice team for a phone bank at UUCM March 22 from 10 to noon. Support the historic unionization drive of 18,000 Delta ramp, cargo, and tower workers by calling workers and asking them to re-sign expired union authorization cards. This will help Delta workers get to a vote on unionization as soon as possible. The UUCM Racial Justice group recently hosted a guest speaker, Amanda Goodman-Berry, who spoke passionately about the need for a union at Delta Airlines. In 2023, Delta made 40% of the airline industry’s profits – more than United, American, Southwest, and Alaska combined. Despite these record profits, Delta workers are nowhere near the highest compensated in the industry in terms of pay or benefits. This is an important opportunity to support a racially diverse workforce and the revival of the labor movement, which will help us fight Trump and the billionaire class.
