Minnetonka City Council Meeting Protest

Support exploited workers by attending the Minnetonka City Council meeting this Monday, August 26th at 6:30pm at 14600 Minnetonka Blvd. Allies from CTUL asked UUCM to help pack the room at the city council meeting in support of their efforts to get United Properties, the biggest developer in Minnesota, to meet with workers and seriously address worker rights violations like wage theft, labor trafficking, and safety hazards. This kind of exploitation is all too common in non-union construction where the people ultimately responsible for working conditions hide behind multiple layers of subcontractors. CTUL is short for Centro de Trabajadores Unidos en la Lucha. In English that’s The Center for Workers United in Struggle. CTUL is a worker center based in Minneapolis best known for organizing with Spanish speaking construction workers.
