Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Wacipi
Please join the UUCM Racial Justice Team at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Wacipi next month! The Wacipi, also known as a Powwow, is a vibrant celebration of Native American culture, featuring traditional dance, music, drumming, crafts, food and beverages (no alcohol) and community. A group will be leaving from UUCM at 5 p.m. on August 17 to make it in time to see the Grand Entry march planned for 7 that evening. Spirit of Water
Join a broad community of people to celebrate the Mississippi River and our common love of water. This year’s Spirit of Water event is coming up Saturday, August 10 from 5–8 p.m. at Hidden Falls Regional Park in St. Paul. There will be opportunities to connect, learn, play and give thanks together.
This Sunday: Racial Justice Team Meet & Greet
The Racial Justice team will have a table in the community room after this week’s service! We’ll be sharing with everyone the breadth of our actions—within, among, and beyond. This will also be an opportunity to join the team for ’24-’25 program year. Please stop and see us!
Ridwell Reminder!
The featured items for 7/29 are CDs, DVDs and record albums. They must be in their outer cases. As always, please place all clean and dry items in plastic bags in the labeled bins. Folks seem to be most confused about the MULTI-LAYER plastic category. This includes any plastic bags that make noise when you squish (such as bags grapes come in, candy bar wrappers, chip bags, garden soil and water softener bags, also netting such as holds tangerines).
