Reminder: You can help care for our planet on Earth Day and every day by using Ridwell at UUCM! The next pick up is coming up on Thursday, April 25. This month’s special item is pet leashes, collars, harnesses and food. Just drop off your clean in dry items in the bins next to the little library. Learn more about Ridwell here or contact Kathy Stuebner at 612.590.9606 or Sue Asinger at 612.703.2297 with questions.

New North Wall Artist

Dan Tran is the new artist featured in our UUCM North Wall Art Space. Tran is an immigrant from Vietnam and uses his art to confront, in a naive-pop-satirical style, burning socio-political issues of our time, climate change, criminal justice, human rights, racism, disinformation and gun violence; while praising the skills we as humans have developed in order to survive, love, hope, healing, community and creativity.

Tuesday Night Book Club!

The Tuesday Night Book Club is looking for more participants! The next meeting is April 23 at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom. This month’s book is Tenacious Beasts by Christopher J. Preston. This book addresses wildlife recoveries that change how we think about animals and dovetails nicely with Earth Month. If you’ve ever wondered how whales have an impact on carbon capture and storage, how wolves were reintroduced in Yellow Stone, or what strategies are used to protect Northern Spotted Owls in the Pacific Northwest, this book has the answers! We’ll also discuss ideas for selecting other books in the future! Please contact Dick Asigner or John Crosson with questions.

Youth Group Scavenger Hunt!

The Youth Group Scavenger Hunt is coming up April 20 from 3-6 p.m. Youth in grades 8-12 are invited to come to UUCM for a scavenger hunt on UUCM’s grounds as we try to outwit one another! Come for the challenge and stay for some pizza with friends. Youth are also invited to attend the Social Justice Rally beforehand and are welcome to come a few minutes late to UUCM. Please RSVP to Malia Brandt by Thursday, April 18.
