UUCM Mid-Week Message 6/16/21

During the summer months, the Minister’s Message will become the UUCM Mid-Week Message with inspiration provided by members of UUCM’s staff team. This week’s message is offered by Jennifer Swick, Director of Family Ministry.

Play is our worship theme for June. In this Mid-Week Message, Jennifer shares reflections on how the spiritual discipline of play has led to healing in her life. What are the rough edges of your history, personality or relationships that could be healed by the power of play?

Minister’s Message 6/2/21

This week’s message celebrates the Unitarian Universalist tradition of Flower Communion. Rev. Lisa shares her experience that it is not only the unique beauty of each flower that matters to this ritual, but also the sturdy strength of the vase.

REMINDER In addition to our virtual Flower Communion service on Sunday, we hope you will stop by and participate in our in-person activities:

Saturday, June 5, 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Bring a flower to exchange, shop and participate in the Climate Justice plant exchange, and join in family games for all ages (games will end at 2:30 p.m.).

Sunday June 6, noon-1:00 p.m.
Come take a flower or participate in the plant exchange, if you were unable to do so on Saturday. If you are new to UUCM, join Rev. Lisa & Gary Charles for a socially distanced tour of the building.

Minister’s Message 5/26/21

This week’s message marks the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder and the ways stories are kept alive in our hearts beyond mere words. Rev. Lisa reflects on the power of silence to hold embodied truth and to redeem us.

You are also invited to view an introduction and link to this month’s UUConnectMonthly newsletter, below Rev. Lisa’s message.
