April’s Bring it Home, MN Rally: Beacon and their interfaith partners – of which UUCM is one – had over 100 leaders in person, 40 on Zoom, and 23 legislators attend this great action. They even signed a letter which was delivered to Governor Walz! Rev. Lisa (pictured center) also attended a gathering to support funding for important Housing Infrastructure Bonds. Social Generosity Offering: May 2022
Each month, UUCM gives away the full amount of its offering to an organization doing the work for love, equity, and justice in our world.
Eleven UUCM youth (and seven adults) will be going to Harlan, Kentucky this year for the Appalachia Service Project trip, working to make homes in the Appalachia region warmer, safer, and drier. Our group is getting ready to go the week of 7/2-9. We’re expecting the trip to cost about $9500, so we need your help! There are several ways you can contribute to the trip. Anti-racism, the 8th Principle and Article II of the UUA By-Laws

The UUA is currently reimagining Article II of its By-Laws. This is the article that contains the formal statement of our seven UU principles. As part of this effort, the Article II Commission is seeking to include stronger language on anti-racism and anti-oppression. Social Generosity Offering: April 2022
The Line 3 Legal Defense Fund provides support to people facing arrest, jail time, and state repression because of their opposition to Enbridge’s Line 3 pipeline project. The fund is a volunteer-run nonprofit organization that is based out of the Twin Cities. They were founded in 2019 and will continue to operate for as long as is needed. Flexible and adaptable to the needs of defendants, they rely on community donations to help as many defendants as possible.

Many of us are looking for ways to help and be in solidarity with the people of the Ukraine. Our elected leaders and national organizations have offered vetted lists of organizations to support. There is also the opportunity to support Minnesota’s local Ukrainian community in their response, as well as the work of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee. NEW Faithify Campaign: Click here to provide immediate aid (transportation, shelter, food, supplies, counseling) to families fleeing war in Ukraine through the Hungarian Unitarian Church. Organized by The International Women’s Convocation (IWC) is an NGO in special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council. They are a global partnership of Unitarians & Unitarian Universalists who work for women’s empowerment through Unitarian/UU connections around the world.
