Come and sing with this year’s UUCM Choir Invitational! If you’ve ever been interested in singing in the choir, but haven’t been sure or weren’t positive you could make the yearly commitment, this is the time for you. For our next three rehearsals and upcoming performance, you are specifically invited to come if it’s your first time, if you just want to try it out, or if you’re not sure if you even want to keep doing it long term. There are no ability level prerequisites – anyone is welcome to come and sing – but if you are nervous or unsure about what might be expected of a singer at a choir rehearsal, Paul would also be happy to schedule a time to meet or Zoom with you to help prepare you. The rehearsals are Wednesday evenings, May 10th from 7–8, May 17th from 7–8, and May 24th from 7–8:30 and the performance will be in worship on Sunday, May 28th. We hope to see you there!

We’ll meet in the East Room at St. Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 3121 Groveland School Road, Minnetonka 55391. We would love to pack the room. If you can’t make it in person please consider joining us through this Zoom link. The petition will be at church Sunday if you would still like to sign it.
UUCM Mid-Week Message | 5/3/23
From the Board: May 2023
Each month, a member of the board will share a reflection on the Soul Matters monthly theme. The theme for May is Creativity. This month’s post is offered by Brian Zais.
If you poll a group of kindergartners, asking them to raise their hand if they think they’re creative, almost all the hands will go up, probably quickly and emphatically. Ask the same question of a group of adults and you’d be lucky to get 20%. We seem to “manage out” creativity somewhere in puberty, or at least the self-identification of it.
But everyone is creative, at least in their own way. Society just doesn’t always recognize or tend to reward one expression of it.
Cinco De Mayo Game Night – Words, Words, Words!

If you haven’t made it to a game night yet this year, you’re missing out! This month’s theme will be words, words, words! Think Scrabble, Taboo, Wise and Otherwise, and any other games that play with words. Participants are always encouraged to bring their favorite games as well – the more the merrier! Please join us on May 5, from 6-8pm. RSVP to Karen if you’d like to come for a pizza dinner starting at 5:30.
